Children have different healthcare needs than adults--both medical and emotional.  We work with parents and families to treat a child's illnesses and injury, and promote healthy growth and development, so that each child may reach his or her full potential.  Methodist has been taking care of children for more than 100 years.

Hospital Pediatric Services

When you have a baby at Methodist, or your child needs hospital care, our team of experienced pediatric professionals delivers outstanding healthcare for children from birth through age 18. The Methodist Wonder Center includes a Level II Nursery capable of caring for most newborns (32 weeks gestation and up). Our pediatric hospitalists -- doctors who specialize in treating hospitalized babies and children -- provide around-the-clock, compassionate care. 

All Methodist pediatric nurses are PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certified. Methodist Pediatric Services offers a warm environment where your child can heal and families can relax together in all private rooms. You can even eat and sleep in your child's room free-of-charge.

Pediatric services at Methodist include surgery for removal of appendix, tonsils and adenoids, orthopedic surgery to repair broken bones, and bladder surgery. We also treat children for respiratory conditions including the flu, RSV, pneumonia, and asthma. Methodist is the first hospital in the area to offer the VeinViewer, which shows exactly where a child's veins are, to make inserting IVs and drawing blood easier for children with only one "stick."
